On Friday night Supporters—ranging from petites mains to French high society and selected A-listers (plus a few unabashed line-jumpers)—were among the 2,500 guests invited to the evening’s preview of the sumptuous art collection amassed by the duo over 50 years.Picasso, Mondrian, Matisse, Brancusi, and Cézanne. Brancusi’s wooden sculpture Portrait of Mme L.R., the couple’s first major acquisition. Bergé noted that the collection “lost the greater part of its significance” upon the death of Saint Laurent last June. “Their purpose is to be admired and loved,” he noted, adding that the decision to sell was without regret or nostalgia

As the legend goes, Prescott Bush, George W’s grandfather, was not only a prestigious member of the Skull and Bones, but also a grave robbing warlock who stole Geronimo’s skull and brought it back to the clandestine order’s creepy on campus “tomb” located at 64 High Street—that’s where they store all their occult talismans and supernatural paraphernalia. Convinced of this, Harlyn Geronimo, the Indian chief’s great grandson, is suing the U.S. government, Yale University, and the Skull and Bones themselves in an attempt to recover the remains!
Rolls Royce have updated their flagship Phantom sedan for 2009 and made several subtle changes to the exterior and interior. The exterior features a redesigned streamlined front bumper with a shallower grille in a stainless steel finish designed to make it more in line with that of the Phantom Drophead Coupé and Phantom Coupé. The door handles now feature LED illumination and the car now features twenty one inch rims as standard. The interior features new bi-directional double reading lights in the C-pillar which provide additional illumination. The rear climate control, volume control and electric window switches are now repositioned in a wood veneer panel on the door.

Back in September, menswear label Five Four sold out of a new $325 peacoat in one week. Buoyed by strong orders from retailers, including Macy’s, designer Andres Izquieta ordered luxurious fabrics from an Italian mill.
“I was thinking we were going to have a new category of $300 to $500 coats for fall 2009,” says Mr. Izquieta, 28 years old. His co-chief executive, Dee Murthy, also 28, was confident, too; indeed, he had splurged on a new Aston Martin Vantage sports car for himself in March.
Alas, when world markets crashed the following month, consumers snapped their wallets shut. Many of the retailers that sold Five Four’s trendy, casual jackets, shirts and other heavily detailed pieces canceled orders or backed out of payments.
DOHA (AFP)–Sudan and the Justice and Equality Movement, Darfur’s most active rebel group, have agreed to sign a declaration of good intentions on Tuesday, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem al-Thani said on Monday. “There has been great progress…and we now have an agreement that may be signed,” Sheikh Hamad told reporters. Qatar has been mediating peace talks between Khartoum and the JEM since last Tuesday. “The content of the agreement, which will be signed tomorrow (Tuesday), has the agreement of all parties,” the premier added in reference to all sponsors of the Doha talks. Qatar, the United Nations, African Union and Arab League have all sponsored the negotiations, stressing that the Doha talks are preliminary and intended to pave the way for a broader peace conference on Darfur. According to the United Nations, 300,000 people have died and more than 2.2 million have fled their homes since rebels in the western region rose up against the Khartoum government in February 2003. Sudan puts the death toll at only 10,000.
